Looking to add flavor to your meal without adding extra calories? Try fresh herbs and spices. You will enjoy more flavor AND a smaller you! This is really a great way to spice up your food and make it taste great while still being healthy. Alot of times we tend to think that eating healthy taste bad and has no flavor, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Great fresh herbs are thyme, cilantro, rosemary, and parsley just to name a few. Great spices are cinnamon, nutmeg, and chili powder to add a kick. Freshly squeezed lemon and lime are great to add some flavor as well.
So here is one of my favorite whole wheat chicken tortilla wraps. Grilled chicken with zesty lime ms.dash’s seasoning. Grill the chicken and then fork pull the chicken to shred it. Place romain lettuce on top of tortilla, place chicken on top of romaine, add freshly chopped cilantro and if you like to spice it up a few dashes of frank’s red hot and squeeze fresh lime on top. Very quick, easy and delicious.

I have used Mrs. Dash lemon pepper on fish where I bake it with that and a little olive oil. I do make some pannini’s on the deli flats with carved turkey, lowfat cheese and basil and they are yummy! Other than that I like to add parsley to any pasta dish that I make.
Very awesome abigail thanks for sharing and that does sound delicious.
Getting fluids in my body everyday typically isn’t a problem…however when I need a change, I peel a cucumber and slice it into a pitcher of water and you now have infused cucumber water- it’s very refreshing!!
Plain yogurt with unsweetened applesauce and a dash of cinnamon will crave a sweet tooth when needed : )
Very awesome I have never tried cucumber water, I am going to have to try it. Thanks for sharing Joyce
I think it is important to involve my kids in making healthy food choices. This summer we grew spinach, cilantro, parsley, and rosemary in the backyard. They loved it when we would cut them to add to our dinner recipes. In addition, we grew tomatoes, green peppers, strawberries and cucumbers. We all had fun and ate healthier!
Kelly. that is so awesome to hear you involve your kids that is an awesome way to lead by example and get them involved. Thanks for sharing.
Instead of eating french fries, I make oven-baked chili fries. I leave the skin on clean russet potatoes, cut them into french fry shapes, toss with a little olive oil, chili powder and black pepper. Bake at 425 for about 45 minutes. Everytime I serve them to guests they ask “What brand are these fries?”
Holly, that sounds great I am not sure if I should’ve read that this late it is making me hungry : )
